The identity of the man involved in the fatal crash on Glasgow Road last weekend, has now been confirmed by the authorities.
James McDowell (59) was stuck by a passing car at 12.45am on Saturday evening. The emergency services were quick to attend the scene, removing the man to Hairmyres Hospital where, sadly he died a short time later. The driver of the vehicle and his passengers did not require medical treatment.
