Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, the 27th January is ‘Holocaust Memorial Day’.

Remembering the 6 MILLION European Jews who were deliberately murdered in history’s most awful genocide, in the space of a few short years during WW2.

The extermination of those people ALSO included the Roma Gypsies, disabled people, “incurably sick”, as well as ethnic Poles, Slavs, Soviet citizens, Soviet prisoners of war, political opponents, gay men and Jehovah’s Witnesses, resulting in up to 17 MILLION deaths overall.

It is estimated that TWO MILLION of these people were young children.

How can we explain this atrocity to our own children today? That people on this earth are capable of such cruelty, even in war.

Innocent people. We will remember them.
