An important one which may cause some commute disruption! The Blantyre Ferme Road has been closed off to traffic this afternoon due to a burst water main.
Around 1.00pm today Tuesday 3 December 2019, Scottish Water closed off the road near the Golf Range. There is limited access to local businesses e.g golf range and Birnam Scrap Yard from the Blantyre side, but the Blantyre Ferme Road is closed otherwise at the Uddingston side.
Signs have been erected stating the road is closed to vehicles. If you’re going from the Blantyre side, you’ll need to divert to the left to Newton/Cambuslang. Diversions are in place.
