A local Tae Kwon Do club has been left feeling let down after the Blantyre Leisure Centre moved them to a smaller hall within the premises, a hall which was inadequate for their club.
‘Cho’s Blantyre Tae Kwon Do’ have been hiring the large games hall in the Sports Centre for some time but have now had to seek an alternative venue.
A spokesperson for the club told us, “We were moved to the crèche. An area that small size is no good for school kids to build stamina for National and International competitions and we brought this to the attention of centre staff on several occasions.”
“We have now been forced to look at venues away from Blantyre and have since severed our connection with hiring from South Lanarkshire Council, feeling let down.”
The club are still on the lookout for a Blantyre venue and meantime will soon be starting back up outwith the town, at Westburn Hall.
