What else has been going on in Blantyre this sunny day?
Milheugh Bridge repairs continue at the bottom of the Pech Brae. The bridge crosses the River Calder and had been badly damaged by large vehicles in recent weeks.
Several large sandstone blocks were dislodged, though the bridge remains open and safe enough for pedestrians and vehicles. It’s the second time in the last year this bridge, built in the 1950’s has needed to be fixed. Signs and fences are up stating repairs will take up to a week. Picture was taken yesterday.
