Playpark Fundraiser Closing Soon

Our six month fundraiser to raise money towards Blantyre’s new playpark is coming to an end.

There’s just 11 days left if you would still like to contribute towards the new playpark for the Village in Blantyre. To be located at the David Livingstone Birthplace, the project is being managed by David Livingstone Trust and is costing over £100,000. Funding for the renovation of the museum did not include the outdoor playpark, so there’s been a heavy reliance on private endeavours to raise money to ensure Blantyre gets a quality, new park, fitting for local children, something that will last several generations.

We’re doing our part , trying to raise £2,500 towards the cost of one particular piece of equipment in the park and have already managed to raise £2,027 with thanks to our kind readers and our own fundraising activities!

Our fundraiser page closes on 30th September, after which we’ll award David Livingstone Trust the full value of whatever has been raised by that day. With thanks to everybody who donated so far. Such kindness, even more so when you consider much of this was raised during lockdown.

The museum is currently being renovated and it’s hoped the new playpark can be provided in due course.

Make a difference. You can donate here or directly on the Trust’s website:
