Christmas School Holidays could be extended

Council leaders across Scotland met today to discuss the possibility of extending the Christmas School Holidays this year by an additional one week on either side of the usual break.

A proposal for this year only to increase holidays from 18th December 2020 through to 11th January 2021 is being considered with a decision by the Scottish Government expected next week.

The proposal due to the current health pandemic, takes account of a quieter week for pupils on the run up to Christmas and designed to limit the spread of Covid-19 after families gather for Christmas.

Have your say. Would YOU welcome these proposals? Will this add pressure to parents and carers?
