Scottish Child Payment

Parents of children under 6 years are reminded of a new payment they will be able to claim next year. Demand is expected to be high, so it’s worth applying now.

The Scottish Child Payment is a weekly payment of £10 paid every four weeks that you can get for every child you look after who’s under 6 years of age.

This is not the same as Child Benefit that you might already get, and if you get Tax Credits or certain benefits you should apply for this too.

This doesn’t start until 15 February 2021, but by taking your application now, everything can be submitted to make a decision and payments can begin as soon as possible after it starts.
