Gritters have been Out

South Lanarkshire Council have been working hard yesterday and today and been out in Blantyre to get us all moving again.

Gritters have been out on the main roads as this picture of Glasgow Road this evening shows.

Elsewhere on side streets, the council have been extremely busy refilling the salt bins today. Thankfully a lot of pavements are starting to be cleared of ice and good progress made locally.

A warning for tonight though. Temperatures have to fall to around -6 in central Scotland! The recent snow likely to freeze over and cause some more difficult conditions early tomorrow. A thaw is forecast for the weekend.
