Scotland’s very first ever Banking Hub is being trialled in Cambuslang.
The town has been affected by the loss of banks just as much as neighbouring Blantyre and Hamilton. When banks disappeared from the Main Street, something had to be done. Cambuslang Community Council after listening to the residents of the town, paved the way for the arrival of a new banking hub, one premises where several banks can trade from, each sharing the rental cost of the unit.
News has arrived this week that the Cambuslang Banking hub IS coming, now a reality. Internal fit-out is starting this week. It will be operated by the Post Office and the following five banks will work from within in it to provide banking services to not just Cambuslang, but neighbouring areas again
