Demolition contractors took down the final part of Miller’s Building in Springwells, Blantyre today.
The view from Glasgow Road at the Burnbank boundary looks quite different today, Tuesday 10th May 2022 as the building is now completely gone. The 2 storey stone tenement dating from the 1870’s has seen many businesses over the years, some more well known than others. However, with subsidence, the building had become significantly unsafe and was taken down by the council.
A tidy up operation is now taking place with a view to soon removing the nearby temporary traffic lights.
