It’s the end of an era for a well known public house in Blantyre as the Doon Inn announces its closing its doors.
After an incredible 57 years of trading, owners felt now was the right time to move on, issuing a statement yesterday on Thursday 16th June 2022. It reads:
“We have seen generations of customers come through our doors. Whether you have been a darts or dominoes player, a regular quizzer, a music lover at our nights or just out for a few drinks, it has been a pleasure to serve you. We would like to thank our staff past and present for their commitment and excellent contribution to our business. We would not be where we are without you.”
“Finally, a special word of thanks to our families for their patience and support. They have played a big role in our success. Their contribution in a number of areas of the business has been invaluable.”
The new owners will take over in July and we extend an invite to make contact with Blantyre Telegraph as we will happily post their updates and press releases to the wider community.
Meantime, may we wish everybody associated with the Doon Inn all the very best for the future and thank them sincerely for all the memories and making the Doon Inn such a popular, welcoming pub over the decades.
