£293 was put towards buying six fantastic Christmas competition prizes. A further £160 was given to 2 random delighted families in Asda (2 x £80) towards their Christmas big shopping bill!

Donation Made: £317
£200 was given to Andy Simm of Miners Welfare for new plaques on the memorial at HB Cemetery plus £117 to MacMillan Cancer Care.

Donation Made: £630
a) £230 to the Miners Welfare via Andy Simm for our joint fundraiser to provide new, engraved memorial extensions on the miners obelisk memorial at High Blantyre Cemetery.
b) £200 to the West End Bar for ‘Blantyre Easter Egg’ Appeal, helping to ensure all Blantyre kids are going to get a FREE Easter Egg.
c) £80 of new books to Margaret Leith’s elderly mother who was having a difficult time in lockdown.
d) £50 to the local family of Liam McKendrick to assist with funeral costs.
e) £50 Valentines cash prize to Brenda McGrail for winning our competition.
f) £20 to 10 year old Philip Holland’s Sponsored walk for Scottish SPCA.

Donation Made: £3,003
a) £2,584 to the David Livingstone Trust towards the new Playpark currently being built.
b) £200 to TACT Healthy Garden at Coatshill to allow them to buy further much needed plants.
c) £119 donated to MacMillan Cancer Support after learning cancer deaths had increased during lockdown.
d) and finally £100 was handed over to Mick McCann to give Andy Simm at the Miners Welfare for our joint fundraiser to provide new, engraved memorial extensions on the miners obelisk memorial at High Blantyre Cemetery.

Donation Made: £754
a) £475.00 for a brand new shed for the Community Garden behind the Miners Welfare, something which was greatly appreciated back in June.
b) £200.00 was donated to Terminal One’s fundraiser page to help buy their new Minibus in July.
c) and finally the balance £79.00 was donated to local organisation LAMH to help increase awareness of mental health issues.

a) £213 for GCF for children’s charity in Glasgow.
b) £200 for our 10 year Anniversary Competition given back to readers on our supporters page 24/9/21.
c) £50 to Blantyre boy Alex (9) after he was run down by a car. Given to mother Carriann Kirkland.
d) £50 to Blantyre lassie Orla McGregor (10) after thieves had stolen her plant, plant pot and solar lights.
e) and £40 to Lesley Hunter for her run for Cancer charity endeavour running everyday in September.

£695 raised (£455 by the kind members of our supporters group, £70 in very kind private donations and £167 in book sales) Several excellent donations were therefore possible BACK to local good causes.
a) £70 was donated for P7 leavers to celebrate their last day in school.
b) £100 was donated to Blantyre woman Mari Gray to forward on a Ukrainian Family of Refugees,
c) £80 was given to Natalie Campbell in the form of sweets and toys for her 2 children who recently had a tough time.
d) £200 was donated to the High Blantyre Baptist Church given to Rev Steve Younger,
e) £200 went to the British Heart Foundation (a charity now close to our heart…literally, following our recent triple hard bypass!),
f) £30 was given in flowers to a local lady who recently tripped and
g) £15 was given to local gentleman as book to read to help his recovery.

We’ve resupplied loads of sensory toys for High Blantyre Primary School £170,
arranged Blantyre’s condolence book for Queen Elizabeth II at the Miners Welfare £60,
paid for a residents shopping as a random surprise £93,
£220 for renewing our website hosting for a full year,
made personal gifts to a resident at Flemington Care Home £50,
put £320 pounds into the forthcoming annual Blantyre Toy Drive,
donated £179.20 to MacMillan Cancer Support as well as
arranging community wreaths for Blantyre’s two War Memorials £45 and
remembrance wreaths for the Anniversary of the Pit Disaster £25
