The Halifax banking brand is set to disappear after 173 years, with all customer accounts gradually transferring to the Lloyds name.
Owner Lloyds Banking Group confirmed the rebrand, saying customers will keep the same account numbers, sort codes, banking app and branch staff, meaning there will be little day-to-day change.
No jobs are expected to be lost, while Halifax branches will either be rebranded as Lloyds or merged with nearby Lloyds branches during 2027.
The group says the move is intended to simplify its banking brands, while remaining committed to its Halifax headquarters and its 3,000 employees based there.
