Breaking News: Lanarkshire Lockdown

The Scottish Government has announced today that parts of Scotland, including Lanarkshire will move up to Tier 4 lockdown.

The announcement came today, Tuesday 17 November 2020 just after 2.20pm when First Minister Nicola Sturgeon addressed Holyrood.

Level four is the closest to a full lockdown, similar to the one introduced in March, though schools will remain open.

From Friday 20th November 2020, South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, Dumbartonshire, Ayrshire, West Lothian and Glasgow will move to Level Four for a limited time.

Two other areas move down from Level 4 to level 2. Nineteen other council areas will see no change.

This week, Scotland’s deaths are sadly expected to surpass 5,000 people.

What does Level 4 Restrictions mean?

Level 4 sees conditions very similar to those imposed in Springtime. Though not just quite as sever. Socialising would not be allowed in people’s homes, but six people from two households could still meet outdoors and there would be no limit on outdoor exercise.
