Remembering Christina Evans (87)

We hear that well known local lady Christina (Ina) Evans, a former ward sister/nursing officer of Hairmyres Hospital, sadly passed away on the 19th of January aged 87 in Hairmyres Hospital.

She was well known and respected in the community through her contact with patients and relatives. Many would remember her as that Sister from the hospital but to others she was just Ina.

She was a regular face around Asda who would never pass a familiar face without stopping to have a chat. She was also a member of St Andrews Church where she was more than happy to provide her famous baking for their coffee mornings.

She leaves behind 2 sons, 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Due to local restrictions unfortunately her funeral will be limited to immediate family only. The funeral service will be held on Monday 1st February at 2pm at St Andrews Church, then on to South Lanarkshire Crematorium. The church service will be streamed on their own website.

If anyone would like access to the service at the crematorium please get in touch with a family member for details. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and the family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and sympathy at this sad time.

Our thought go out to all the family at this sad time.
