Things could soon be about to change at the Blantyre and Hamilton Recycling Centre (the tip at East Avenue, High Blantyre).
South Lanarkshire Councillors, this Tuesday will be presented with plans to change the current ‘turn up and tip’ arrangements to a new appointment based system. This would mean residents will be asked first to reserve a slot through a booking portal.
The plans are proposed for all 6 of South Lanarkshire’s recycling centre after some degree of success to reduce queues at Carluke.
The proposals still need to be agreed upon and will next week be presented to Community and Enterprise Resources committee. If adopted, the new system would commence in August.
