A huge congratulations and very happy retirement to Blantyre’s Arthur Harkness, who is finally hanging up his litter picker after an incredible almost 47 years helping to keep the streets of Blantyre clean! 👏
Arthur has spent the vast majority of his working life with South Lanarkshire Council, becoming a familiar face around the town while quietly doing his bit, day after day, to keep our community looking its best.
Nearly 47 years of service is an amazing achievement and certainly deserves recognition. 💙
Now the time has finally come for Arthur to put his feet up, enjoy a well-earned rest and make the most of retirement — although we’re told there may still be plenty of weeding to catch up on! 🌱😄
His family are incredibly proud, with his sister wishing him many happy, healthy and relaxing years ahead.
