A very special congratulations today, Friday 11th September, to Alexander ‘Sandy’ and Ailsa Bell, who are celebrating an incredible 50 years of marriage! 🥂💍
Sandy, originally from Perth, and Ailsa, from Cathkin, first met in 1973 while on holiday in Blackpool. Their relationship blossomed and Sandy later moved through to Glasgow to be with Ailsa.
The couple married in Cambuslang Parish Church in 1976, beginning a wonderful journey together which has now reached its Golden Anniversary.
In 1980, Sandy and Ailsa moved into their home on Glenfruin Road, Blantyre where they have remained ever since, building a lifetime of memories and raising their family.
They have three children – daughter Pauline and sons Graeme and Craig – as well as grandson Jordan and granddaughter Arya. And there’s another exciting chapter ahead, as Sandy and Ailsa are set to become great-grandparents in February 2027! ❤️
Their family have shared this lovely message:
“We would just like to say how proud and grateful we are to them. A Golden Wedding Anniversary is such a wonderful achievement and we are so lucky to be spending it with them.”
Fifty years of marriage is certainly something worth celebrating! 💛
From all of us, a huge Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary to Sandy and Ailsa! Here’s to the memories made over the last five decades and to many more happy times together.
🥂 Congratulations to you both! Please join us in wishing Sandy and Ailsa a very happy 50th anniversary.
