Proposals by Energy Companies to remove existing, large electricity pylons in Blantyre and nearby areas have been announced. Residents across Blantyre, Cambuslang and Hamilton are being invited to have their say on plans by SP Energy Networks, with two public consultation events taking place next month.
The events will give local people an opportunity to view the proposed plans to remove the pylons entirely and bury cables underground in other locations. The events also provide good opportunity for residents to ask questions, raise any concerns and speak directly with the project team. Feedback from residents will help shape the final designs.
Blantyreโs existing electricity pylons have been there for many decades, but as High Blantyre expanded with new housing estates, such as the one pictured at Greenhall Village and across the Salveson Houses some highly visible pylons have ended up โฆ.not on the fringes, but now within residential areas. The proposals seek to correct this.
