The countdown is officially on! After a seven-year absence, Blantyre’s Christmas lights switch-on is making a much-anticipated return, and there’s a fantastic afternoon of festive fun planned for the whole family!
Organised by Blantyre Community Events, this FREE community celebration takes place next Saturday, 14th November, at Blantyre Leisure Centre and Stonefield Park.
🎅 Here’s what’s happening!
🛍️ Christmas Market (1pm–4.30pm) – Browse stalls packed with Christmas gifts, stocking fillers and handmade goodies while supporting local businesses.
🎶 Live Entertainment – Stage performances from 1pm, including the wonderful Salvation Army Brass Band.
🎄 Christmas Lights Switch-On (4.30pm) – The big moment when Blantyre officially lights up for Christmas!
🤶 Stories with Mrs Claus (1pm–3.30pm) – A magical experience for younger visitors.
✨ Sensory Room (1pm–3.30pm) – A dedicated space for those who may appreciate a quieter environment.
📸 S-elfie Space – Capture some festive family photographs!
🎟️ Raffle (2.30pm) – Tickets are £1 per strip, cash only.
🍕 Food and Treats – Enjoy freshly made pizza from Itali-Iain’s, burgers from On a Roll and delicious sweet treats from Darling Sweet.
🎁 And there’s more! The first 200 children through the doors will receive a FREE goodie bag, so arrive early!
