Boots Delivery Charges

Boots are introducing delivery charges for prescriptions.

For Blantyre, this affects the Victoria Street shop and those people who normally get their prescription sent out to them for free.

One off deliveries will cost £5 per patient per delivery. An annual delivery subscription of £55 is available for people who regularly get deliveries.

The move has angered some Blantyre residents. We know of one lady who is blind and for the best part each day is housebound. She would normally get a delivery to her home for free, but is now having to pay the £55 delivery charge. She has ruled out being able to collect in person.

Boots commented, “Prescriptions will continue to be free to collect from the store and we continue to encourage regular contact between our patients and our pharmacy teams as face to face conversations offer opportunities for patients to be better supported.”

The new charges come into effect on 29th September 2019.
