Dogs Injured by Wasps

A Blantyre woman’s dogs were injured this week by a wasps nest in the grounds of David Livingstone Birthplace.

She had been walking her two dogs in the park when they came across a wasps nest hidden in the long grass. Sadly, each dog was both badly stung, with one of the dogs taking a particularly bad reaction. Symptoms including itchiness, swollen eyes and skin.

A costly visit of £75 to the vet followed, both dogs having a traumatic day.

She has asked for this post to make other dog walkers aware. The nest is near the main gate entrance as if turning immediately left on the path, about half way down.

The park is very popular with all walkers, so please take care.
