A big milestone this week at Calder Street, Blantyre as contractors move in to start building the brand new Community Resource Centre!
Blantyre is set to get a brand new multi million pound community building which is sure to be one of the most important hubs we’ll have in this town. Fleming Construction is the appointed contractor, now on site.
Blantyre Miners Welfare Community Resource Centre burned down in the early hours of Monday 13th November 2017 with the site sitting derelict for just over 3 years. The fire displaced several groups and shocked the whole community.
It’s understood the new build will take 48 weeks, meaning all being well with construction, it could be ready for opening at the start of 2022.
