Hoolet’s Plans Announced

Planning permission has now been granted to transform and improve the outside and inside fabric of the Hoolet’s building.

Recently bought over by the Carrigan family, it is widely known that the public house on Bardykes Road, Blantyre will be retained as a pub, given its deep heritage and long, established standing in the town.

With new signage planned shortly, structural changes are now approved for new windows facing out to Bardykes Road and a new, second entrance to a larger bar area, accessed from the eastern pavement side.

This will be a significant overhaul to the fabric of the building, greatly improving both outside and inside requiring an entire extensive fitout and means re-opening will be into 2024.

Some exciting changes are planned! The existing Beer Garden area will having extensive work done to it with the theme of turning it into a beautiful “The Secret Garden”. The bar area promises to be larger, with additional space for customers overall, remaining very much a traditional pub. An artist’s impression of the how the finished building will look has been released.

With thanks to the Carrigan family for sharing their plans with us. As with most Blantyre residents, we look forward to the highly anticipated opening.
