A lunar “halo” has been spotted in the night skies last night.
The ring around the Moon was seen over many parts of the UK, including Central Scotland.
Known as a “lunar halo”, it is caused by the refraction of moonlight from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. According to the Met Office, the halo can suggest rainfall might be approaching.
