Feathered Visitors to Blantyre

Blantyre had some feathered visitors today, Monday 17th June 2024 as a small flock of geese took to the streets.

We had numerous reports of several birds, which appeared to be a family unit appearing in people’s gardens and on the pavement. These pictures show the calm and friendly birds at Calder Street in a surprised resident’s garden.

Concerned about their road sense, the RSPB was called to ensure their safety. Well done to that organisation who took the time, care and effort to transport all the birds to a more suitable, safer setting at Strathclyde Park.
