Pumpkin advice from the Countryside Rangers. Please don’t leave old pumpkins leftover from Halloween out for wildlife….. as it can generally make them sick.
Don’t dump your old pumpkins in parks or woodlands or leave them to rot outside in your garden. Passing wildlife can become ill if they eat pumpkins, which are not originally native to Scotland.
Instead donate them to local farms/community gardens, dispose of them responsibly in your wheelie bins or bury them fairly deep in your garden for worms to enjoy.
