Do you know what to do if you accidentally dial 999?

Misdials to emergency services may increase as people become familiar with new devices and mobiles they’ve received for Christmas.

If you accidentally call 999:

Don’t hang up, stay on the line and let us know you’re ok.

If you do hang up, a service advisor will call you back. Your call will need to be cleared before they can move on to the next emergency.

Silent calls are never ignored. Confirming you’re ok and your call was an accident is peace of mind for those who received the call.
