Blantyre Friends Complete West Highland Way for Charity

Well done to local residents Jamie, Claire, Elizabeth and Raymond who have smashed the West Highland Way all in the name of charity.

After the gruelling walk between 26th April and yesterday 2nd May, the 4 of them completed the West Highland way raising over £3,300 for Alzheimers Scotland!

The two couples, lifelong friends from Blantyre have a great love for the outdoors and often embark on hikes including bagging as many Munro’s as possible together.

Elizabeth told Blantyre Telegraph, “Alzheimers Scotland is a charity close to our hearts as Raymond’s dad has Alzheimer’s & Jamie’s step dad has vascular dementia so the four of us witness first hand what life is like for people & their families living with this illness.”

“We have set up a just giving page & would love if Blantyre Telegraph could help us reach out to the wider community to raise as much money as possible.”
