Emma and James Honour Dad with Charity Challenges

Local Siblings Emma and James Hair have launched an incredible tribute to their late father.

Over the last 5 weeks, Emma and her brother James have been raising money in memory of their Dad, Jim Hair who would have turned 60 years old today.

Tragically Jim was taken from the family far too soon, at the young age of 44, passing from Cancer.

To celebrate his Big Heavenly Birthday whilst raising awareness & money for a charity very close to hearts in this family, Emma and James decided to take on not one but THREE challenges all within the space of 5 weeks!

Emma told us today, “

1. We Ran Edinburgh Marathon on the 24th May.

2. Completed the 3 Peaks Challenge (Climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon & Scafell Pike in 24 hours) on the 12th June.

3. Walked the West Highland Way ( 96 Miles from Milngavie to Fort William) from the 22nd and finished today!

A Very Special moment for us both finishing the West Highland Way today on dad’s 60th Birthday!”

The Charity in question is child bereavement, which provides free Online Support to Children and young people (Under the age of 25) who have suffered bereavement. Charities such as this are few are far between and the support they provide is crucial.

Grief changes everything. When a child or young person loses someone they love — a parent, a sibling, a friend — their whole world is turned upside down. Every part of life is affected. And for far too many, the support they need simply isn’t accessible. No child or young person should grieve alone.

Emma continued, “Any donation regardless of amount would be greatly appreciated and help power us through this great challenge, and to support a very worthy charity to provide ongoing support wherever needed.”
