Smokers and vapers are being hit with higher costs from this week as major new UK taxes on cigarettes, tobacco and vaping products come into force.
From 1 October 2026, a new duty is being charged on vaping liquids, while tobacco duty has also increased further.
The UK Government says the changes are intended to raise additional revenue while keeping cigarettes significantly more expensive than vaping products, preserving a financial incentive for smokers to make the switch.
