The countdown to Christmas is underway with lights scheduled to be switched on at events across South Lanarkshire….and Blantyre is BACK on the agenda again after a 7 year break.
It’s never too early to mark these dates in your calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun:
- Saturday 14 November – Carluke & Blantyre
- Sunday 15 November – East Kilbride (Village)
- Saturday 21 November – Lanark
- Sunday 22 November – Cambuslang
- Saturday 28 November – Rutherglen
More details, including event times and all the entertainment that will be coming to a town near you, will be announced soon.
For most of the events, Provost Bert Thomson or Depute Provost Celine Handibode will be joined on stage by specially invited guests for the switching on of the lights across South Lanarkshire.
Provost Thomson said: “I hope as many people as possible will be able to come along and join me for a bit of festive fun.
“The switch-on events are a great way to help people get excited in the run-up to Christmas so please keep an eye out for updates regarding the switch-on events near you.”
Blantyre’s festive switch on event has been resurrected this year by an incredible new motivated group, ‘Blantyre Community Events’ with Stonefield Park and the Sports Centre the venue for this town! We can’t wait!
