We’ve been chatting to the Council about this year’s Christmas lights and can reveal Blantyre’s will be switched on a little earlier than usual this year.
With no Christmas outdoor event and to avoid scheduling clashes with other towns, Glasgow Road lights will be switched on remotely by the South Lanarkshire Council at 16.15hrs at Stonefield Park on Sunday 17th November 2024.
Main Street, High Blantyre will be even earlier! Those lights will be energised (no ceremony) by 19.00hrs on Saturday 16th November 2024.
You read that right folks…Christmas Street Lights are being switched on in just 29 days time!!
