Please simply delete any email that you receive offering you a vaccination. This is not how the NHS will contact you and they are scams!
We’re received several reports about emails like the one shown asking people to accept an invite to book a slot for their vaccination.
NHS Scotland will NEVER ask you to share your bank details or to pay for the vaccine.
It was also confirmed that NHS Scotland is not using email to contact people, so if you receive an email about your vaccine appointment it will be fake.
Fraud prevention service Cifas has warned this week that sharing ‘vaccine selfies’ on social media could lead to identity theft. Some of those who have received the vaccine have been sharing pictures of their vaccination cards, which include their name, date of birth and location – criminals could use this information to create fake cards to be sold on the black market.
If you are unsure about a message you have received in relation to Covid-19, call the NHS Scotland national helpline on 0800 030 8013.
