Alert goes out…..Look out for people pretending to run Christmas market stalls. There’s been a sharp rise in this kind of scam, from unscrupulous people looking to scam you into paying for pitch fees, for pitches and markets which DON’T actually exist.
The people doing this are posting on Live Chat Groups locally, advertising for pitches in Motherwell, Blantyre, Glasgow, Cambuslang, Larkhall, Stonehouse, East Kilbride, Uddingston and other places. The post looks genuine enough, except it’s not coming from an organisation, but one person’s FB account. The same accounts posting as far away as England too.
If you ARE a vendor and interested in market stalls, always do some checking first and approach an official organisation. Don’t fall for this scam. We take great pleasure in banning these idiots from our pages and groups.
NEVER send money to a profile account that’s just one person.
