Serious moment if you own a small business….We’ve actively blocked LOADS of scam posts this week. One of the worst ones is from people trying to scam others into paying for a Christmas Market stall placement, (which doesn’t exist!).
The scam posts on groups, looking to trick small businesses into paying a sum of money for stall hire. It looks like this, but the location could be anywhere, in any town and can sometimes look like a real event!
We’ve blocked this from happening on several Blantyre schools and church fairs.
If you do see these type of posts anywhere, NEVER pay for stall hire online, unless you have done your diligence and always best handing hire fees into the venue itself. NEVER contact the number in these posts. Unfortunately, we know other people are falling for this scam on other local pages and throughout Scotland. Please share.
