Driver Hazard at High Blantyre

With our recent request to the council not prompting any action yet…, we’re calling this out again in public.

The trees and bushes at Auchinraith Roundabout, High Blantyre are SO overgrown, they’re now out 2 foot into the carriageway, significantly narrowing the lane, restricting visibility on a corner and now becoming dangerous for drivers.

The perfect opportunity to attend to this was last week during a full road closure, with assurances given to us that would be done. If the council want to avoid claims for scratched vehicles and de-risk this locations, we would kindly ask them again here on the page (and by previous written request) to attend to cutting this back behind the kerb line at earliest opportunity.

Councillors may wish to intervene if this leads to more prompt action.(Please, leave this work for the council to do. A off-peak lane closure is likely needed. No individuals or community groups should be doing this given how busy the road is.)
