Hoping all of Blantyre will get behind local woman Molly Geddes who is performing this year at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival.
Molly (21) from Blantyre and her friend Emma Gray (21) from California have written and will star in a play titled ‘Bad Habit’.
Background to the show: In the name of the Father, the Son, and the free trip to California. Amen. After lying about their holy aspirations, two Glaswegian Catholic school girls make a pilgrimage to a convent in Los Angeles. Quickly hit with the reality that their journey is more walk on water than Walk of Fame, things go from bad to worse when their last ditch attempt to soak in Hollywood is crashed by two American nuns in training and the potential second coming of Christ. Beliefs and culture clash in this coming of age story, full of comedy and heart.
Molly graduated from RCS in 2023 and is about to finish filming a Netflix / BBC drama, though the name of the drama can’t be announced yet. We’ve been following Molly’s career since she was a teenager and the talented lass even featured in our Blantyre Oscars back in 2019.
Meantime, “Bad Habit” plays at Edinburgh Fringe Festival from the 19th to 24th August 2024. Wishing both women all the best!
