The Musical , “A Night With Janis Joplin” has been running on Broadway for several years and it’s coming to the London West End for a short time….with a local connection!
The musical includes works of singer-songwriter Janis Joplin. Written and directed by Randy Johnson, the show has toured consistently since 2011, but now has a forthcoming stint at the Peacock Theatre in London beginning on August 20, 2024
Local woman, Rebecca Kelly (25) has been appointed Associate Musical Director and unusually, she will be on stage while directing the band!
Rebecca attended St Joseph’s then John Ogilvie High School before graduating from Edinburgh Uni and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with her post graduate. She worked weekends in the Hoolets while at Uni.
Her delighted mum Claire, told Blantyre Telegraph, “She has worked so hard and this has been her dream since she was at primary school. She moved down on Friday and started rehearsals yesterday. We’re all so proud!”
