Weather Outlook

A bitterly cold and icy night for central Scotland tonight with temperatures potentially dropping to around – 6 or -7. Very cold and icy with clear skies developing for most areas. Mainly dry but the odd light isolated snow flurry is possible. Bitter north-westerly winds.

Thursday

Tomorrow will see another windy and cold day with bitter north-westerly winds and sunny spells. A few patches of cloud and snow showers are possible in the afternoon, even as low as High Blantyre and East Kilbride.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

Friday will start with a mix of sunshine and further wintry showers. It will be turning dry and bright for most in the afternoon. Cold. Very windy on Saturday with spells of rain and hill snow in the morning, followed by heavy rain in the afternoon as it turns much milder.

Much milder is certainly Saturday’s theme and could be as mild as 12 degrees! A far cry from tonight.
