On Bank Holiday Monday, Calderside Academy pupils showed incredible commitment and community spirit as 130 students came together to take part in a National 5 English Masterclass – all in preparation for this week’s important exam.
Hosted at the welcoming Blantyre Miners Welfare, the event provided a focused and supportive environment for pupils to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and receive last-minute guidance from the dedicated and talented English department at Calderside.
Calderside Head teacher Ms Calder told Blantyre Telegraph, “We are hugely grateful to Blantyre Miners Welfare for opening their doors and offering such a fantastic space for learning. Their generosity and support helped make the event a success, and their hospitality couldn’t have been more appreciated.”
“A heartfelt thank you also goes to the staff who gave up their day to support the pupils – and to every young person who took part with enthusiasm and determination. This event was a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together to support its young people.”
“Good luck to all our pupils in their National 5 English exam – we’re so proud of your hard work!”
