Final Post of 2025 before we sign off tonight to celebrate with family.
A little message and recap to end this year on a high. It’s been an incredible 12 months here at Blantyre Telegraph! A further +3,000 people have joined with over 30,000 people here, an incredible achievement which now for the first time, surpasses readership of Lanarkshire’s top news outlets! Some amazing growth from people following from towns all over Lanarkshire, far outside Blantyre’s boundaries.
We’ve successfully migrated to beautiful new graphics for more visual, less textual mobile friendly formats, something we’ve been wanting to do for years.
It’s fabulous also to hear feedback from people who use Telegraph as their primary source to find out what’s going on in this area. With so many media outlets and organisations now also providing us with press releases, posting about regional or National news every now and again has certainly helped growth! As always however, first and foremost we’re a Blantyre page.
We’ve been able to ramp up meaningful, relevant content to ensure the page is engaging, interesting yet always maintaining a human touch (avoiding clickbait and AI slop so prevalent and apparent on other news pages in Scotland!). Importantly, thanks to our amazing Supporters Group who receive all news first, we’ve been able to make many dozens of charitable donations to local Blantyre good causes, worth thousands of pounds, once again making a real different to lives! That’s what this is all about and why we continue! We have such exciting plans for 2026 for further growth.
A reminder, this is all done in spare time, volunteering for no reward. Writing and pre-scheduling articles at evenings and weekends. No recognition or reward is sought, but if you can stretch to occasional likes, shares or comments on each of our posts, or ideally becoming a Supporter, that’s always nice and appreciated. FOUR operations later, I’m ‘rebuilt’, thankfully now fighting fit, fully recovered and back feeling good again!
