A brand new playground is being formed at Kirkton Park, High Blantyre.
The old swings and play equipment has been removed by South Lanarkshire Council, and they’re creating a new play area, more centrally located in the park, closer to the existing zipwire.
The new location is away from homes and being in the middle is close to the handy intersection of paths. The council have been working for a couple of weeks to install the new equipment which includes climbing frames and also includes swings which will also consider disabled children. Several parks in Lanarkshire were recently given funding to upgrade equipment, a move most welcome.
