Weather – Change on the way

After another lengthy spell of predominantly dry summer weather for much of the UK, a significant change is on the way this week as Atlantic weather systems begin to take control.

Sunday and Monday will remain largely settled for many, with plenty of dry weather and sunny spells. However, things start changing from Tuesday onwards.

🌧️ ENGLAND & WALES – MUCH-NEEDED RAIN

After what has been an exceptionally dry summer in many areas, England and Wales are finally set to see more widespread rainfall.

Showers will begin developing before bands of rain push across the country during the middle of the week. Some of these could become heavy and potentially thundery, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.

For gardens, farmland and areas which have seen very little meaningful rainfall recently, it will certainly be a welcome sight – although localised downpours could deliver quite a lot of rain in a short period possibly causing flooding.

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 SCOTLAND – COOLER & CHANGEABLE

Further north, here in Scotland, it looks set to continue with a more familiar mixture of conditions.

Temperatures will generally feel cooler than further south, with a combination of sunny spells, increasing cloud and periods of showers or rain as weather systems move through. There should still be some pleasant, brighter spells between the showers, so it certainly won’t be raining all the time.

🌦️ Looking further ahead towards the end of August, the overall picture remains changeable and unsettled, with further showers or longer spells of rain possible across much of the UK.

After so much dry weather this summer, will you be pleased to finally see some proper rain?
