A welcome improvement for motorists and pedestrians using the Blantyre Farm Road bridge over the motorway!
Following concerns raised by community group Grow Uddingston about the deteriorating condition of the bridge railings, Amey has now completed a full repaint on both sides.
The railings have been restored to their original bright blue colour, replacing the rusty appearance that had become increasingly noticeable in recent months. It’s a fantastic improvement and shows what can be achieved when local community groups raise concerns and work with those responsible for maintenance.
There’s more good news too! Amey hopes to schedule repainting of the Glasgow Road bridge railings early next year, alongside other planned works.
Well done to Grow Uddingston for highlighting the issue and to Amey for taking action.
What do you think of the improvement?
