The restored bright blue color replaces the rusty appearance, showcasing effective collaboration. Amey plans to repaint the Glasgow Road bridge soon.
Traffic lights have been installed at the Blantyreferme Roundabout for remedial works by South Lanarkshire Council. The project will take about 5 days, causing expected disruptions and potential queues during peak hours, although the road will remain open throughout the construction period.
Blantyre Farm Road is closed near the Haughhead Sandstone bridge over the River Clyde, restricting access from Uddingston. Parts of Blantyre Farm Road, Calder Road, and Westburn Road have been closed since mid-January, but will re-open on July 20th at 5:00 PM due to the completion of a new roundabout. The project also includes landscaping improvements, a new entrance for Redlees Park, and upgraded drainage and lighting.

Much of the earthworks, kerbing, drainage, and lighting are complete, but the road to Newton remains closed. The project is expected to finish in over a month, opening for school holidays.

Blantyre Farm Road from Uddingston is now open again following yesterdays accident, but there are temporary traffic lights in place for the crossing over the Clyde Bridge at Haughhead. Please be aware the lights are actually on the bridge so take care on approach. Nearby Golf range open as normal today.
