It’s happened again! Somebody driving UP the wrong way of the High Blantyre EK Expressway Sliproad.
The working week started on Monday with a van heading up the wrong way causing vehicles to brake hard and today, Friday 6th September 2019, a similar incident.
A white car drove up the wrong way beyond the no entry signs, only to realise and attempt a three point turn. However, whilst doing do, vehicles coming off the expressway at speed had to brake to a halt to avoid a crash. Those vehicles themselves becoming obstructions for traffic behind them.
If this can be photographed TWICE in one week, recorded by our readers 9 times this year, HOW LONG is it before a serious accident or fatality happens?
We would strongly advise drivers to slow down significantly on the approaches to the sliproads, keeping distance from vehicles in front, whilst we once again, for the fourth time this year ask the Council to prioritise the planned improvement work.
