Heads up for the Council. Not sure if recent high winds have made this worse, but it would be great to get the unsightly litter cleaned up from the verges all along Bardykes Road, Blantyre.
One local resident told us today, “I look at this every day and have no idea how this will be dealt with. The morning of Sunday 5th January would have been a good time to close the road! Very quiet. This is harmful to nature and the image of South Lanarkshire. I know there’s a lot of rubbish hotspots in the area, but this one filters down to the river eventually.”
The trees are ‘decorated’ with bags, some of them looking like they’re full. It’s striking, highly noticeable and depressing. Many people must see this but passing in a car it maybe has less impact. The picture attached only shows some areas.
We’ve called it in and hope the council can find a way to attend to this promptly and safely.
