Anonymous Donation Supports Local Heroine Alison Glen

Here’s a nice wee story which happened quietly in the background within the community.

You may remember that local woman, Alison Glen took the opportunity when Bardykes Road was closed to do a personal litter pick, all along the road. She collected loads of bags making use of the quiet road. Well, one local resident was so impressed by Alison’s efforts and seeing how clean the roadside was afterwards, he decided to make an anonymous donation through ourselves.

He left Alison a very generous voucher donation at Blantyre Carrigans, not only supporting local business, but also ensuring Alison and her family could enjoy thank you meal!

Alison wanted to offer her thanks to the mystery donator. She told us, “I’ve just been round to Carrigan’s to collect the voucher. And oh my goodness. We are so taken aback at the amount! Please pass on our very grateful thanks to the man for this extremely generous gift. We’ll do our best to keep on top of the litter. Been out early this morning again!”

How wonderful it is to see such respect, appreciation and kindness within the community. We love to see people paying it forward like this! Well done to Alison and Mr x!
